I was lucky enough to see Armstrong in two different productions of Rondine--Boston lyric Opera and New York City Opera and she sounded great in both. I don't believe Fleming does the whole role but she sings the aria gorgeously.
Do you know the recording from early in Leontyne Price's career? As close to perfection as it gets!
