Obscure Operas

Ok. Here is an idea. We have all these obscure operas on (CD and still some LPs) at my house. The husband is this major collector. I am an avid listener. It so works. Should I listen to some of these operas and report my findings? For example, we listened to Erkel's Bánk Bán just the other day. Husband and I agreed that it was pretty nice. "Nice chorus, there." "Yup. Is that Hungarian?" "Ooh; this coloratura scena is sort of like Lucia. You hear that? You here THAT? Honey?!" "What?" And the terrier howled some at all the 1840s fol-de-rol, as he is wont to do (and whenever Bruckner's horns crank up). But we have all these obscure works, things by people like Moniusko and Sinding and other Norwegians.. and Finns... and still others whose works give us so much pleasure and whose names escape me at this time. It would be nice to share some of this and get away from this "whatever happens on board stays on board" or "whatever happens on the ranch stays on the ranch" mentality. You know?
